The network and how it works

Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is a broad topic in itself. HCI is also a topic within related fields such as informatics and design. Sweden is a small country but fairly strong in HCI, where PhD education in HCI and related fields are offered by several universities, each within their own area of excellence.

We could, and should, collaborate and learn from each other. In the wake of the pandemic, distance learning and teaching has made a ten-year leap in Swedish academia, including forms of PhD studies. All the pieces are now in place for informal national collaboration on PhD studies in HCI.

Our aim is to offer Swedish PhD students in HCI and related fields a selection of PhD courses and seminars from universities around the country.

  • Courses and seminars are offered nationally on a voluntary basis. The course leader is responsible for admission as well as for teaching and examining the course. Please note that the number of participants may be restricted.

  • If you find an interesting course here, get approval from your supervisor and then get in touch with the course leader for more information on how to apply and how the course works.

  • Once you complete the course, you will obtain a diploma from your course organiser. Take the diploma to your supervisor to get the course credited into your PhD program.
